Acompanhamos hoje Palmira Macedo, Presidente da Assembleia Municipal de Matosinhos, numa das suas idas habituais ao Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos, desta vez para comprar peixe, na banca de Helena Cadilhe.

“Aqui no Mercado encontro sempre o melhor peixe, e já tenho uma grande relação de confiança com a D. Helena. Antes de vir telefono a dizer o que quero, depois é só vir buscar.
Fiz o mesmo durante a quarentena, e não só com o peixe, mas também com os legumes do Sr Joaquim, e com o talho. E muitas vezes até me entregavam em casa!
Dei todos estes contactos preciosos às minhas amigas!

Na Banca do Peixe
Helena Cadilhe já está na sua banca do Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos há 35 anos, seguindo a tradição da avó, que também já vendia peixe.
Aliás, ali à sua volta é praticamente tudo família, conta.

“Ali atrás também já tenho uma neta a trabalhar…., e ri-se.
Fui mãe muito novinha, na altura achava que o mundo ia acabar, e não podia perder nada, ….mas o mundo não acabou!

Shopping at the Local Market

We follow today Palmira Macedo, President of Matosinhos City Council, to one of her usual visits to the Matosinhos Municipality market, today to buy fish, at Helena’s Cadilhe stall.

“I find the best fish here at the Market, and I have a true confidence relationship with Helena. I call her, I say what I want and then I just need to come here and pick it up.
I did the same during the quarantine, not only with fish, but also with the vegetables from Sr Joaquim, or with the Butchers. And many times I had the products delivered at home.
I gave all this precious contacts to my friends!

At the Fish Stall
Helena Cadilhe is working at that Fish stall for 35 years already, following a family tradition, as her grandmother was selling fish as well.
And even the stall around are all family related.

“There behind me I also have a granddaughter working, …(laughing)
I was mother really at a very young age, I thought the world would end and I could not miss a thing……, but the world didi not end!
