Maratona do Porto (Porto Marathon) – running emotions in one of the most beautiful cities of the world

Glorioso. Magnânimo.
São as palavras que me ocorrem quando penso em quem corre uma maratona e chega ao final dos 42Km.
E correr a Maratona do Porto, num percurso dos mais bonitos do mundo, que acompanha o rio e o mar deve tornar essa emoção ainda mais grandiosa 🙂
Foi a 14.ª Edição da Maratona da cidade do Porto, uma edição com 15 000 participantes, entre os quais 4500 estrangeiros. Uma enorme admiração por quem corta a meta.

These are the words that occur to me when I think of those who run a marathon and arrive to the end of the 42Km.
And running the Porto Marathon, though one of the most beautiful courses in the world, with river and sea all along the way must turn that emotion even more intense. 🙂
It was the 14th edition of Porto Marathon, an edition with 15000 participants, 4500 among them being non portuguese. My complete admiration for those who cross the finishing line.

Não há muitas mais palavras para além das imagens.
A Maratona do Porto 2017 aconteceu no passado domingo, Novembro 5, num dia bonito de sol e sem estar muito quente, numa organização da Runporto e que envolveu o apoio de três câmaras municipais: Porto, Matosinhos e Vila Nova de Gaia.

Acompanhei a partida, algumas ruas de Matosinhos, e a chegada, até à hora 4.
E estive do lado de lá da meta com as lágrimas nos olhos a partilhar da emoção. 🙂

O evento englobava ainda uma corrida de 15Km – a Family Race, e uma fun Race, numa mini caminhada de 6 Km.

Porto Marathon 2017 took place last Sunday, November 5, in a beautiful sunny day that was not too hot nor too cold, organised by Runporto and envolving three municipalities: Porto, Matosinhos and Vila Nova de Gaia.

I followed the start, some streets in Matosinhos, and the finishing, until the 4hour run.
And I was after the finishing line with tears in the eyes sharing all the emotion. 🙂

The event had also a Family Race – 15Km, and a Fun Race – a mini walk of 6km.

Acredito que essa vibração e adrenalina seja essencial para quem percorre os últimos kilómetros, que podem ser dolorosos para muitos.

I believe that vibration and all that adrenaline are essential for those running the last kilometres, for sure they are hard.
