Filipa and Cíntia believe that what is ours and made by us is of great value, so they created , 4 years ago, the company Portugal Lovers – a marketing and event planner company – with the aim to share more and more the best things produced in Portugal.
with them Urban Market was born – the most mediatic event from both – that despite not having a fixed place to happen, almost got immortalised at the renovated Praça das Cardosas. who hasn´t still attended one Urban Market at Cardosas?
photo session took place at a special edition close to the Cathedral.

“I am from Lisbon, and Filipa is from Bragança. we were both in love with the city of Porto, where we met and where we came to live, but it was not easy to find a job in our area – marketing – so we decided to create our self employment.
“we believe that what is made in Portugal is so good or even better than things made in other countries, so from the beginning that we bet on sharing national designers, national brands or brands less known, portuguese gastronomy and wines, or we want to help small local businesses.”
since first edition that Urban Market was a success, because not only tourists but also locals like to appear and participate in events like these, it is a way they discover new brands and products.”

“Urban Market has no fixed place in the city to happen, we are always open to new places and we like to explore not so busy locations. but, we are conscient, that there are places that inevitably are connected to the Urban Market – like Hard Club and Praça das Cardosas”

(P.S estou a incluir a Aguda no grande Porto…..:)

A favorite place in Porto?
Passeio das Virtudes, where I love to watch the sunset, and Aguda beach for a dive in the ocean…
(I am including Aguda as big Porto…:)
The best of Porto, or why do you like Porto?
first of all I like Porto because of Francisco, it is due to him that I came to Porto 🙂
and then, slowly, I began to like Porto, because it is an easy city to live in, it has a great quality of life without the big fuss that exists in bigger cities – I really love to walk around the city without needing the car – and it is nice to always find someone known to say hello, being it a friend or the man from the coffee shop.
I like the localism and its people, I like to get lost in small alleyways, and I like the proximity with the river.
I also like the beach, and here in 10min I can be in a huge beach without many people, which allows me sometimes for small escapes, and sometimes find a place to work in front of the sea. (In Lisbon, in the summer, it takes alms an hour…)
And of course, I like the people, and being from Lisbon I was really welcomed here.
One more reason, it is a city that has been growing a lot, but there is still a lot to do, and that is challenging and good!
If you were not living in Porto, where do you imagine you would be living?
I came from Lisbon to Porto almost six years ago, at this moment I cannot imagine myself living anywhere else.
A dream?
My dream? I have a lot of dreams. I dream awake every day, figuring out what I will be doing the next day. Then I have my so called Life mission, which is the things in which I believe it has to be done, for the others, or for my work, for the city I live in. I try to accomplish daily my own small dreams, and in a long term i would like to have more time to travel.

A favorite place in Porto?
I have two favourite places: Passeio das Virtudes and Palácio de Cristal, not only because of the place itself, but also because of the beautiful views to the city.
The best of Porto, or why do you like Porto?
I like the way people live in Porto, and it is a city that welcomes you as you always have been part of. I also like the small alleys, and the typical localism.
If you were not living in Porto, where do you imagine you would be living?
I cannot imagine myself living in another city than Porto!
at the moment this is the city that fulfils me. I have quality of life  without the stress of a big city.
I do not have my family close, but easily I can be with them on my free days.
I grew such familiar ties with this city and with the friends who live here, and from here I can easily travel and get to know the world. Maybe in the future, if I have to answer this question again, I will answer something different, but at the present moment, it is this city – cidade invicta – where I want to be living.
