A nossa protagonista da Série Bons Vizinhos em Matosinhos é hoje Juliana Antunes, simplesmente um dos nomes mais conhecidos do mundo do voleibol feminino nacional.

Natural de Matosinhos, Juliana começou a jogar bem nova no Leixões, há 23 anos, clube ao qual continuou a pertencer durante vários anos e ao qual regressará na época 2020/2021.
No seu currículo – tome nota! – contam-se, na modalidade Voleibol Indoor – 4 títulos de Campeã Nacional, 2 Taças de Portugal e 4 Supertaças! E na modalidade Voleibol de praia – 8 títulos nacionais, Campeã europeia universitária e Medalha de Ouro nos Jogos da Lusofonia!

Eu fiquei sinceramente fã de Juliana, tanto por todo o seu percurso, mas mais ainda mais por toda a sua simpatia e sorriso fácil.

E foi precisamente com a sua simpatia que Juliana Antunes me levou até ao Restaurante Aliança, um restaurante que frequenta desde pequenina pois morava ali bem perto, (bons vizinhos em Matosinhos, portanto) e de cujos donos se tornou evidentemente amiga.

A comida é cozinha tradicional portuguesa, e eu adoro os panados com arroz de feijão,
mas tudo é muito bom! “

O restaurante Aliança fica na esquina entre a Rua do Godinho e a Rua de Brito Capelo e é um dos restaurantes mais antigos da rua, muito frequentado pelos moradores locais.
Gerido por pai e filho, o Restaurante Aliança está aberto todos os dias e serve comida tradicional portuguesa, num ambiente muito acolhedor e familiar.
Agora nesta altura da pandemia aproveitaram para aumentar a zona de mesas no exterior, e que bem se almoça debaixo daqueles guarda-sóis vermelhos em plena rua de Brito Capelo!
(eu provei o arroz de feijão e comprovo – uma delícia! )

Our main character today in the Serie Good Neighbours in Matosinhos is Juliana Antunes, simply one of the most well-known names in the women voleibol national world.

Natural from Matosinhos, Juliana started playing voleibol very young, 23 years ago, and she started at Leixões Club, where she stayed for many years and to which she will come back for the next season- 2020/2021.
On her curriculum – take note !!! – you can count, in Indoor Voleibol – 4 National Championships Titles, 2 Portugal Cups. and 4 Supercups! At Beach Voleibol – Voleibol – 8 national titles, University European Champion e and Gold Medal at Lusophony Games.!

I became Juliana’s fan, much because of her journey so far, but also because of her simplicity and nice posture,

It was with her simplicity that Juliana guided me to Restaurante Aliança, a restaurant she goes since she was a kid , as she lived very close, and to whose owners she became a friend.

“I recommend everything here at Restaurant Aliança.
Food is typical portuguese food, I specially love “panados com arroz de feijão”,
but everything is really good!

Restaurante Aliança
Aliança Restaurant is located right at the square from Rua do Godinho with at Rua de Brito Capelo, it is one of the oldest restaurants in the street and many locals attend the restaurant.
It is run by father and son, it is open everyday and the food is typical portuguese food, in a cosy and familiar environment.
During this pandemia times, they had the opportunity to have more tables outside, and I can really say what a pleasant time it is to sit there eating under the red umbrellas, at Rua de Brito Capelo.
(I tasted the “arroz de feijão” and it was delicious! )

Como foi viver a quarentena sendo a Juliana uma desportista profissional e estando habituada a treinos diários?

– Durante a quarentena tive de me reinventar.
Tracei objetivos muito precisos, e treinava todos os dias em casa, para não perder os meus índices de força e para me manter em forma.
A pandemia chegou a meio do campeonato, foi uma quarentena forçada!

Agora felizmente o voleibol de praia já vai recomeçar, com regras muito específicas e muito diferentes do habitual.
Vamos ter de usar óculos, e usar a máscara sempre que entramos e saímos do recinto, vamos ter de fazer o teste do Covid,…

Tempos de readaptação e em que temos de ser responsáveis, e a verdade é que nunca jogámos tanto em equipa como agora.
Eu espero que as pessoas não se venham a esquecer destas aprendizagens e pelo que passamos – o desporto é essencial, e jogar em equipa um desafio muito bom!
A pandemia veio alertar – nos para isto.

Como é ser vizinha em Matosinhos e voltar a frequentar estas ruas, o comércio, os restaurantes?

– Eu gosto muito de Matosinhos, vivo cá desde pequenina, e com os meus pais passeávamos muito, especialmente pela rua de Brito Capelo.
Vínhamos da praia e almoçávamos aqui, tenho muito boas memórias desta rua ainda quando passava o elétrico.
Agora os tempos são outros, o elétrico deu lugar ao metro, e eu já não moro tão perto, mas continuo a vir cá almoçar muitas vezes!

E Matosinhos tem a praia, que eu adoro, costumo também frequentar alguns bares de praia.
Acima de tudo, para além de sermos “vizinhos” acho que somos todos bons amigos!

How was it the quarantine for you, being you a professional sports person and being used to daily workouts?

– During quarantine I had to reinvent myself.
I had very precise goals, and did daily workouts at home, in order not to loose my strength levels and to keep fit.
The pandemia arrived in the middle of the championship, it was a forced quarantine!

Luckily now the Beach Voley will start again, with very special rules and very different from what we were used to.
We will have to wear glasses, and use the mask all the time we enter or leave the playground, and we will have to do the Covid test.

These are times of readaptation, and we will have to be more responsible.
But the truth is that we never played so much as a team like these days.
I hope people will not forget what they learned from this pandemia. Practicing Sports is fundamental, and team play is a very good challenge!
Pandemia came to make us see that!

How is it to be Neighbour in Matosinhos, coming back to visit these streets, the restaurants, the local shops?

– I really like Matosinhos, I live here since I was a little girl, and with my parents we used to walk a lot, specially in this street, Brito Capelo.
We came from the beach and had lunch here, and I have very good memories from this street when there was the tram.
Now times are different, instead of the tram there is the metro, I personally do not live so close here, but I keep coming here very often!

And Matosinhos has the beach, which I love, and I also go a lot to some of the beach bars.
More than just neighbours, we can say we are friends!
