The Beatles Cafe | Cafe Delmar

Visitei o The Beatles Cafe na a minha recente viagem à Índia, que foi passada praticamente toda em Rishikesh, no norte do país, bem perto do Nepal e dos Himalaias.

Rishikesh tem a maior concentração de ashrams no mundo (ashrams são locais para prática de yoga e meditação) e foi lá que também os Beatles se retiraram para uma temporada de meditação (entre Fevereiro e Abril de 1968).

desses tempos, nasceu o famoso Café Delmar (o Cafe dos Beatles), em Laxman Jhula, localidade bem perto dos ashrams.

Como fiquei para mais um dia após ao retiro terminar, tive oportunidade de visitar o famoso espaço.

I visited The Beatles Cafe during my recent trip to India, where I practically spent all my days in Rishikesh, in north of India, close to Nepal and to the Himalayas.

in Rishikesh lies the biggest concentration of ashrams in the world (ashrams are places for yoga practice and meditation) and it was in Rishikesh that also the Beatles went for a period of meditation (from February to April 1968).

from those times, the Cafe Delmar ( The Beatles Cafe) was born – located in Laxman Jhula, a place very close to the ashrams.

As after my retreat I stayed for one free day, I had the opportunity to visit the famous Cafe.

o Cafe Delmar tem uma varanda maravilhosa com vistas magníficas para o rio Ganges, e é impossível não sair de lá inspirado….eu, estive lá e deixei-me relaxar com um refrescante ginger lemon tea ao som de música dos anos sessenta, claro…

também serve refeições leves (sempre vegetarianas).

Cafe Delmar has a beautiful balcony over the Ganga, which certainly is an inspiration for everyone….

the day I was there I drank a refreshing ginger lemon tea, listening to music….from the 60’s, of course….

one can also have light meals, vegetarian.
